Abul K Chowdhury came to this earth with the rising son on 1st February, 1971 with the golden spoon in his mouth. That was revealed by his mother Farida Chodhury as she opined that amongst her six Children (two sons and four daughters) her this No. 4 son Abul’s birth did not give any kind of problem/complication being extremely pleasant. Excellent result after completion of schooling, he did remarkable score in the TOEFL which paved his way to get admission in any American Educational Institution. • I had the pleasure of working with Abul for three years when I was at Cantor. I was always amazed how even during times when clients were constantly calling him and he was extremely busy, that he’d always find time to crack a joke and smile. There must’ve been something in the air in the area where he sat, because both he and Zach share that admirable trait.

    May God bless your family.

    Adnan Longi, co-worker
  • I had the pleasure of meeting Abul only once, but I felt that I knew him by the many stories that Nick; his colleague and buddy, told me of their many eSpeed adventures. I heard the stories of how Abul was the most patient of teachers, a man of integrity, a true friend.

My thoughts and prayers to the family.

    Cindy, Friend
  • Abul had a heart of gold. He always wanted to make everyone happy, even found total strangers apartments, jobs etc. and went out of his way wihthout ever asking for anything in return; sometimes people didn’t even know it was him who did it. He helped so many people. No matter how serious or how trivial a problem was, he’d do all he could to help. He loved his family and fiancee so much, was so wise and humourous and kind. He knew all about life that was important to know.

    Claudia, friend
  • He was my maternal uncle. He had a ocean-like heart with full of kindness and graciousess. He was busy and had a hard life, but he was always nice to everyone and always kept joking. He was the best Maternal uncle I have ever seen in entire life.

    Shahriar Mahmud, Nephew
  • My uncle was a man of compassion and sympathy who knew that life was not to be wasted on the trivial things of every day life. Despite his demanding schedule at work, he always seemed to find time to drop by and say hello or send me a birthday card. Those were the little things that actually were very great actions that come back to me today about him when he is now gone. But he really isn’t gone. He is in the air, the sky and our very psyche guiding us throughout our daily lives.

    Nadia Rahman, Niece
  • Mahmud Uncle,(Abul) was a uncle that did everything under any circumstances. He was what they call, a ” miracle worker”. He wasn’t an uncle to me he was a best friend. He used to crack jokes, say he was a better violin player, a better basketball player. “Yeah right whatever you say Mahmud uncle,” we would say. He used to take our basketball and bounce it around pretending to play with the New York Knicks. He would always be able to make us smile and laugh with his charismatic jokes and actions. We will all always love and remember him for that.

    Zaheda Rahman, Niece
  • Don’t know
    Where you are
    Don’t go!
    Not too far
    You left in a hurry
    No news, no querry
    Family and friend
    Together we stand
    Everyone you knew
    We love you
    Your smile and your walk
    Your scent and your touch
    Will forget you never
    And cherish you forever
    No more tears
    Only prayers
    Today we say hello
    Not goodbye
    You’ll be forever
    The twinkle in our sky

    Tarek Ahmed, M.D., Brother-in-law
  • I have received and experienced the distinct honor of being able to share 30 years of greatness with my younger brother Abul. We grew up together, both physically and mentally. I was and still am very proud to be his brother. I miss him more than anyone could possibly perceive, but he has gained an eternity of solace. Being the best at whatever he did was very important to him, a real perfectionist. He loves all his family, his friends and his love ones, they were his reason in everything he did in his life. He left his mark in the hearts of many people, near and far.
He enjoyed being involved in Information Technology and was employed at eSpeed (subsidiary of Cantor Fitzgerald). Everyone remembers Abul as one of the good guys with a great sense of humor, generous and kind. He will be missed. His life was cut short here and although he is dearly missed, God has other plans for him and in Him we entrust Abul’s care.

If tears could build a stairway,
    and memories were a lane,
I’d walk right up to heaven
    to bring you home again.
    No farewell words were spoken.
    No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before I knew it,
    and only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness,
    and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
    no one will ever know?

  • I will remember Abul as a friendly and intelligent young man. He was always a pleasure to interact with and I enjoyed helping him whenever he had Unix related problems or whenever he lent his skills to solve any of our problems. It is tragic to see such talent and personality brought to such an unexpected halt. Abul may your soul now and forever rest in eternal peace.

    Rich Sullivan, Co-worker
  • Abul was the brother I never had. A man with abundance of love and affection for his friends and family. The pain and the sorrow of not having him around us are significant. Though every moment we are experiencing the pain of his absence, I deem that our guardian angel is looking upon him.
We were very close together and I only can imagine how painful it is for those who were part of his dream and the hard work that he did to achieve his goals in life. I am grateful for having him in my life and the good recollections of many things we did together are stone written in my heart forever.

It was so great to talk to you everyday
Nothing could dampen your spirit, even a bad day.
You were fun to talk to
    You were a great advisor,
And I always loved to listen to you.
You were up for anything I asked,
Never said no, cause you knew how much of your company I loved.
Why it had to be you? It could be me…
Or it could be no one…..

You have gone to a place
    Where no one would find
With all your feelings deep inside….
    And it ended too soon
Still you are the brother I never had.

    Sami Kabir, Brother-in-law
  • Abul, you are a great friend. Ever since I left Cantor to join my family in Rochester, not a day has gone by where I haven’t reflected upon the fun times we had. I remember how you were so grumpy every morning, yet by 11am you’d have a big smile on your face. So predictible, so kind, so Abul. You will always be a my friend. My thoughts are with you always. Your friend, Bill.

William Seppeler, Friend and ex co-worker
  • I miss you Abul. I miss you so much.

    Monica O'Leary, friend & coworker
  • August 1st, well, if you can’t have a birthday on February 1st, you’re supposed to be able to at least have one on your half birthday! I guess you really get to do whatever you want to today! I’ll just say hello to the moon.

    Monica O'Leary, Friend
  • Abul, just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Eid is coming up on December 6th or 7th, i’ll be sure to pray for you and your family.

    Adnan Longi, Former Co-worker
  • Thinking of you and just wanting to say hi. We miss you.

    Monica O'Leary, friend
  • Wishing you peace and justice for your birthday. And comfort to all of those who endure the pain of this loss.

    Claudia, friend
  • Abul… It is so hard to put into words how I feel… When I think of you sometimes I cry because my heart aches so much and sometimes I smile thinking of things you did or said. It’s been said many many times but you really never know how much someone means to you until they are gone.

One day I will go to Barney’s and buy something….

You were going to be my lifetime friend that I could always turn to as we grow old and reflect on the old-days.

I miss you greatly my friend.

    James Talvy, friend
  • It’s been just over 5 1/2 years. You have a beautiful baby neice. She’s really adorable and I’m sure you’re smiling on her, but everytime I’m with her, I can’t help wishing you were here to hold her. I was thinking of you and missing you. Somehow time doesn’t make everything all better, it’s just time.

    to the moon and back

    Monica, friend
  • Still think of you and miss you greatly my friend.

Every time I see a Toyota Solara I smile.

    James Talvy, friend
  • Happy 40th Birthday Abul! Now your old like me!
