  Joseph A Kelly

Date of Birth: November 28, 1960
Department: Repos

Son, Father, Brother, Husband, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew, Teammate, Co-worker, Friend.) He was loved by many. One thing you have to give Joe — success did not change him. He was the same loud, wisecracking, good-natured, giving guy he always was. He was the kind of guy that would give you his last piece of gum without hesitation. He comes from a great family. God, please bless Joe and his family. God bless his baby boy Timothy Joseph Kelly who was born on May 2, 2002, at 3:32 p.m. weighing 9 pounds, 8 ounces 21 inches. Best of luck.

Love, Those Who Love Him
  • I’m writing this on February 27th, 2021, as we approach the 20th anniversary. My family and I rarely do memorials relating to this tragic day simply because it’s too painful, even almost 20 years later. However, as I am currently in my senior year of college about to enter adulthood and reflecting on the past who made me the young woman I am today, I finally have the courage to do so.

My Dad was incredibly intelligent, resourceful, caring, determined, and loving. He would do anything for his family. Even though Chris, Thomas, Caroline, Timmy, and I were so young when you left us, you did so much in your short life to provide us a better one, and for that, we will all be eternally grateful. When you left us, Mom had to fill your shoes and take on the role of being two parents at the same time while pregnant with your 5th child who you couldn’t meet. She showed me what a strong woman truly is and I am forever grateful that I get to call her Mom. She is the true definition of resilience. She taught us that love can get you through anything. We kids remember the day when Mom promised us that even though you are no longer here, our lives will not change. I’m proud to say that she has kept her promise. We played sports, played with our friends, and everything else kids our age with both parents were doing. We had a very good childhood because of Mom, and of course, you.

On a more happy note, I’m excited to share with you the good news about where your kids are at now in life! Chris graduated from Union College back in 2015 and now is approaching his 28th birthday and owns his apartment in Boston. Thomas graduated from Franklin and Marshall and now holds a law degree from Brooklyn Law and is now practicing in Manhattan. Caroline graduated from Elon University in 2017 and went to Hofstra for her master’s in Occupational Therapy, and just recently, she based her board exams! I’m currently a second-semester senior at Elon majoring in Business just like you did Daddy. Timmy who was born on May 2nd, 2002, is an incredibly gifted child. He is incredibly intelligent and resourceful and has a natural skill for the sciences and mathematics. He was at the top of his high school graduating class this past June and is continuing his education at William and Mary. I’m glad to say that through the hardships we faced as a family, we came out on top. We know we made you proud and that you’re incredibly proud of us.

Mom continues to tell us funny stories of you together, your friends, and your travel. You two have built so much together in such a short amount of time. We miss your quick-witted humor.

Your family loves you and misses you every day, and we know you’re always with us in spirit. Love is how you stay alive, even after you are gone.

And if there’s one thing I am sure of in this lifetime is that we will never forget you, Daddy.

    With all my love,
    Catherine
