Alysia Basmajian Date of Birth: July 1, 1978 Department: Accounting Alysia Basmajian was born in Longview, Washington, but spent the majority of her life in Richmond, Virginia. Alysia attended the College of William and Mary and graduated in May of 2000, with a degree in accounting. While a student, Alysia gave birth to a daughter, Kaela Grayce. Kaela was the joy of Alysia’s life. Alysia treasured every moment with her child. After graduation, Alysia and her family settled in New Jersey. She began working for Cantor Fitzgerald in the fall of 2000. By the time Alysia turned 22, she had graduated from college, become a mother, married, moved to a new city and found a job. Along the way she influenced so many people. Her drive to realize her dreams was matched by her intense love for her family. Her life centered around the people closest to her. Her true passion in life was art, and she found painting as a ready means of self-expression. One of the first things people remember about Alysia was her smile. Alysia possessed a contagious smile, one that made everyone around her smile. Coupled with her compassionate personality, Alysia was one of those rare people we meet in life; a person who makes the lives of those around her better and happier. Alysia means so many things to so many different people. She was a mother, a wife, a daughter, and a friend. She leaves behind a daughter, husband, and many friends and family. In such a brief amount of time, she touched so many lives. Alysia will always be remembered as a beautiful, loving woman.

Dear Anthony,
A day at Cantor would never go by without hearing something cute Kaela did or said at home. Alysia would light up with excitement when she talked about her family. She was very proud of how fast you were moving up the ladder in your career. She was very proud of you as a loving husband and as a wonderful father.
My thoughts and prayers are always with you and Kaela.
Dear Anthony,
I really don’t know what to say to you other than Alysia loved you and Kaela very much. She spoke of you every day and would show me pictures of the latest outing she took with you and Kaela. I can still see the picture of Little Miss Kaela (that’s what I called her) with her Mommy’s shoes on. Or the picture of her in her diaper with her new snow boots. I heard she never wanted to take them off. Please know that Alysia is always in my prayers as are you and Kaela. Alysia is in a way better place than us. I know she is looking down on you and Kaela and would want you to be strong. I already know you will be successful in any endeavor you choose. May God bless you and your family! And always remember, Alysia will never be forgotten.
Theresa
Dear Anthony,
Alysia was one most amazing people I ever met. I had the honor of traning her for my job when I was leaving the Management Reporting Group. I can honestly say that I never met anyone I was able to click with so easily at Cantor. We became instant friends. She really is one of the most loving, compassionate, and open minded person I have ever met. I know she really loves Keala. That was all she ever talked about. I really loved Alysia and I will miss her so much. I pray that God continues to comfort you and draw you closer to himself. I also want you to know that God loves you and cares about every pain you go through. Continue to rest in his capable arms and he will meet every need in your life. Take care and God bless you.
