Daniel Trant Date of Birth: May 15, 1961 Department: Munis Position: Bond Trader Dan Trant lived his life one day at a time, always giving the best he could in whatever he was doing. Throughout his journey he has touched every individual he has encountered and thus created a legacy of friendships that is endless. His commitment to each aspect of his life was genuine as he was. He knew how to love another and give of himself like no other. The way he had was most evident in his commitment to his family. Dan’s wife Kathy and children Jessica, Daniel and Alex were the center of his life. When men ask, what they can do for me I say, “be a Father, Husband and Friend like Dan Trant”. I will always love you Dan. Your wife, Kathy (Queenie) At the age of five, my father adopted me. At that time, he signed me up for soccer and basketball. My father has been my coach ever since. My father worked with me on my skills, how to be a good winner, and a gracious loser. He taught me to be a team player and play within the team concept. He stressed to me, time and again, that winning isn’t everything. But he also taught me to work hard, and from hard work, you are always a winner. My dad has been an inspiration to me in many different ways when it comes to sports. When I get upset about losing, he’s there to comfort me. When it comes to understanding sports, he’s there to explain it to me. When it comes to hugs, he’s there to hug me. To me, he is the greatest inspiration of all. Jessica Trant My Dad died on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. He was loved by many people and he loved many people. I remember him as the best husband, the best Dad, the best influence, and my best friend. I know many people are sad that he is gone. But we can still remember him and see him in our dreams, our hearts, and our souls. Right now, he is saying to all of you, “be strong and I will be there right beside you and guide you when you have troubles”. Don’t be scared, because my Dad is in Heaven with all good people, and once upon a time, we will be able to all go to Heaven and be with “Dan The Man”. Daniel J. Trant The best thing about my Dad is that he loves me and he loves his family. He is one of the nicest people I know. He’s always there for me and he is always funny. My Dad is really good at sports. When we went to the Bahamas, my Dad and I slept in the same bed together. We went on a mini cruise on a banana boat. My Dad knows every theme song to every TV show. Whenever we put on a tune, within 5 seconds he knew what TV show it was from and knew all the words to the song. Whenever I needed help with my schoolwork, my Dad was there to help me. The most special times were when I would go to work with Dad. He would give me whatever I wanted because it was our special time together, the only time we could be alone together. My Dad went to all my soccer games that he could. He would help me practice at home. Sometimes, I would dress up and it would make Daddy laugh. He liked when I dressed like Britney Spears the best. I love my Dad and miss him very much.

Being part of I.T. support I had the pleasure of working with Danny and the other great team members of the Munis group for many years. Dan was a joy to work with-always polite and appreciative of our efforts. After hours we’d sometimes catch-up and discuss a wide range of topics which usually included sports and his fondness of living out on Long Island.
His love and devotion to his family was always apparent, as he proudly displayed photos like the one on this site at his position.
Like so many others I miss Dan’s profound kindness and humor. May God watch over those he loved and cherished!
Dan,
From the moment I met you I knew you were one of “the good guys!” Always smiling, always fun, always Dan. You are dearly missed.
Your pal,

I HEARD ABOUT DAN BUT DIDN’T MEET HIM UNTIL WE WORKED TOGETHER AT CANTOR FITZGERALD IN 1998. WELL WHAT I HEARD ABOUT DAN PRIOR TO MEETING HIM WAS TRUE. HE WAS A HARD WORKER AND AN HONEST GUY. HE WAS FUNNY AND HAD A PASSION FOR LIFE. HE HAD WHAT I LIKE TO CALL AN UNCOMMON -COMMON SENSE. HE WAS VERY SMART BUT IN A PRACTICAL WAY. HE NEVER LET WORK COME BETWEEN HIM AND HIS FAMILY. WE WOULD HAVE PLANS TO GO OUT WITH CUSTOMERS AND 5:00 O’CLOCK WOULD COME AROUND, WHO AM I KIDDING 4:30 AND DAN WOULD BE GONE WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. HE DIDN’T CARE ABOUT OUR PLANS. HE WAS OFF TO SPEND TIME WITH HIS FAMILY. DAN YOU HAD THE RIGHT IDEA. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LAUGHS AND THE LESSONS ON LIFE.
I had the pleasure of knowing Danny for two years. When I first met him I knew he was one of a kind. He always went out of his way to make me feel comfortable with the family. And I thank him for that everyday. He always had a smile on his face and joke to tell. I am lucky to have know such a wonderful man. God Bless You Danny, you are deeply missed.
I’m from Dan’s hometown of Westfield, Ma. Dan coached me during summer basketball games, not being able to pick your coach it was always great when it turned out to be Dan. It has been 25 years since then but have always remembered Dan every time I see an old hoop with the old chain nets because I would watch him practice by himself after the games were done and the only sound you could here was the ching ching ching of Dan hitting nothing but net.
I met Dan in Dublin & there’s a hundred stories I could tell, like how we’d get on stage with the band & make everyone stand up and sing “America Pie”, telling everyone in the bar it was our National Anthem, but those are for another time. The story I will tell happen just before our first game. I was getting dressed and the uniform
I had was too small. Dan’s uniform was bigger & fit him fine, but when he saw mine he just took the shirt off his back and gave it to me to wear. So that’s how I’m gonna remember him, giving me the shirt off his back.
Danny and my brother were very good friends in high school. Danny was my first big crush. Whenever he was around and he looked at me with his big smile, my heart would melt. Danny lived with my brother and father his senior year of high school. I know for my brother those were some awesome times together. Unfortunately time moves on and I never did get to see Danny after they graduated. Needless to say, Danny was always in my thoughts when I would watch basketball or hear his name. One of the saddest days of my life is when I heard that Danny was lost. He only touched me in my youth, but he has lived on in my heart to this day. To Danny’s family, you are in my prayers and in my heart.
I think about coach Dan a lot after just playing a okay game, because I always rememnber him telling me to have confidence in yourself and your game will be fine. And that game usually is one of my better all around games. I’m know in my 2nd year of college, starting point guard at Wesley College. I miss you coach Dan. Trant family my prayers are with you always.
Love

Well Danny Boy, we got him! It’s taken a long time, but he has finally been brought to justice and will never hurt another innocent being. While this doesn’t bring you back, you remain in my hearts, in my thoughts, and in my prayers, each and every day…Danny, we will NEVER FORGET!! Until I see you heaven, little brother, God Bless and Keep You.
Blessings on my brothers in SEAL TEAM 6 NAVSPECWARGRU!!! Thank you guys…well done!!!
I’m going through the Cantor site and reading about as many of the Cantor heroes as I can. God bless the family of Daniel. When things are “hard”, I think of people who passed away in the 9/11 tragedy and think that things aren’t that hard at all. Stay strong.
